Last updated 28 October 2026
- You don't need to tell us your name, email or anything about you to play.
- We only keep what the game needs: your Wubels, your trades and your made-up collector name.
- Nobody can see who owns a Wubel. There's no chat and no way to message anyone.
- No adverts, and we don't track you around the internet.
- Keep your Secret Wubels Code to yourself. We will never ask you for it.
- You can delete your collection any time in Settings.
The rest of this page is the full detail, for parents, carers and anyone who wants it.
Who we are
Wubels is run by Murfin Ltd, based in the UK. We decide how your information is used. You can contact us at hello@wubels.com.
What we keep, and why
- Your collection. When you first visit, we create a collection with a random ID and a made-up collector name, like "Sunny Otter 4821". We keep the Wubels you find, when you found them, your streak, and your trades and trade offers. We need this to run the game.
- Your Secret Wubels Code. We only keep a scrambled version of it. That lets us check a code someone types in, but we can't read it, so we can't send it to you if it's lost.
- Your connection to the game. A cookie holds a random key that links your browser to your collection. We only keep a scrambled version of that key too.
- Internet (IP) addresses, scrambled. To stop spam, cheating and people guessing codes, we limit how often things can be done from one connection. We never store the address itself, only a scrambled version. The counters are deleted within two days. A new collection also keeps a scrambled version that changes every day, so it can't be linked to anything on another day.
- Browser type. We check it to block automated bots, but we don't store it.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs, which can include IP addresses, to keep the service running and secure.
We use this information because we need it to provide the game you asked to play, and to keep it safe and fair. That is our legitimate interest under UK data protection law.
What we never collect
No names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, photos, contacts or location. No adverts, no analytics or tracking tools, no profiling, and we never sell or share your information for marketing.
What other players see
Each Wubel has a public page showing the character, its ID, when it was found and how many times it has been traded. It never shows who owns it. When you trade, the other player sees your made-up collector name and the Wubels being swapped. There's no chat, no messages, no typing, no profiles and no way to share contact details.
What's stored on your device
- One cookie, called wb, which keeps your browser connected to your collection. It's essential, so the game can't work without it, and it lasts up to 400 days.
- Your Secret Wubels Code, saved in your browser so you can see it again in Settings.
- A Wubel you were about to make an offer for, if you followed a link before opening your first box. It's cleared when you close the tab.
None of these are used for advertising or tracking.
Who helps us run Wubels
Our hosting is provided by Vercel, and our database by Supabase. The game's servers and database are in Ireland, in the EU, and pages reach you through Vercel's worldwide network. Both companies can only use our data to provide their service to us, under data processing agreements, and must keep it secure.
How long we keep it
- Your collection stays until you delete it, so it's there when you come back.
- Read notifications are deleted after 30 days, and spam-limit counters within two days.
- When you delete your collection, we remove your Wubels, their history, your boxes, your Secret Code and your connections. Swaps you already made stay in the other player's history, shown as "A former collector".
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. You can delete everything yourself in Settings, and sign out your other devices there too. For anything else, email hello@wubels.com. Parents and carers can contact us for their child. We'll ask some questions to check the collection is yours, but we will never ask for your Secret Wubels Code.
Children
Wubels is made to be played by children as well as adults, so we've kept it private by default: no sign-up, no personal details, no chat, no public profiles, no location and no adverts. We've designed it with the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (the Children's Code) in mind.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
